A widely-used herb with a flavoursome, piquant aroma. The roots can be invasive so restrict the plant by growing in containers or pots sunk into the ground. The pretty flowers, usually in fluffy spires, are rich in nectar, attracting many beneficial pollinating insects.
Easy to grow in any well-drained soil in sun or part shade, sow March to April.
